Game & Recruiting DVDs

Professional videographer Tom Sauer is shooting at least five Torrey Pines varsity lacrosse games this season and is also available to create recruiting videos for Falcon juniors and seniors who are thinking about playing in college. He's already shot Germantown, Coronado and Rancho Bernardo, and will shoot at least one LCC and Poway game later on.

Tom put together several recruiting videos for the TP field hockey and lacrosse team last year and prior to that shot game and recruiting videos for many La Costa Canyon girls who are now playing in college. Even if you're not playing in college, the DVDs make great keepsakes of playing Torrey lacrosse. You can contact him directly on tel (760) 942-8523 or (760) 415-4316 or email: sauertt@hotmail.com.

WestSideLax Picks LCC as Pre-Season No. 1

Something to post on the bulletin board in the Falcons' new team room -- WestSideLax.Com has tabbed archrival La Costa Canyon as the No. 1 team in San Diego County going into the 2009 season. Citing the Maverick's 37-game win streak and the fact they've won the last two CIF titles, the website predicts that LCC is once again the team to beat this year. Coronado is No. 2 and Torrey Pines No. 3 on the preseason list. Falcon sports fans might recall that both the Union Tribune and North County Times also chose LCC as the pre-season favorite in field hockey. And we know how that story ended.

Tools for making your own Lacrosse College Recruiting Videos:

Adobe Premiere Elements, affordable and well-featured non-linear editing (edit videos on your computer).
Windows Movie Maker 2 comes free with Microsoft Windows XP, but it's not as capable as Adobe Premiere or Premiere Elements.
The videos on the 2005 website were produced using programs in the Adobe Video Collection - mainly Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and Adobe After Effects 6.5
The Music Bakery has a nice collection of royalty-free music in an easily searchable form on their website. The music in the La Jolla game highlights, "Roller Coaster", is from The Music Bakery.

Royalty Free Music from The Music Bakery
freeplaymusic.com also has a really nice assortment of music.  The music tracks in the Surf Sun & Stix Pool D games video, "Head Them Up", and Surf Sun & Stix Playoff video, "Topaz" are from freeplaymusic.com.
